Five years from now Helen will walk out of her room, ready to go to school, in an outfit that looks exactly like this. And it will probably be picture day at school on that day as well. And you will not call her "mismatched." Instead, she will be funky and free-spirited, not bound by conventions. Besides, with all that Modern art in her nursery how can she help but look like a Pollock painting? I'll bring a lovely picture of the Virgin Mary in a simple blue frock to hang in Helen's room the next time I visit.
